I heard that 13 year olds can get a job now?

just wondering if its true

    13? That's practically old enough to draw a pension!

    At 5, a child was considered old enough to sweep chimneys in Victorian Britain - until our own implementation of The Factories Act (1833)

    From that point you could only employ 9 year old children (or above)

    and the could ONLY work a 12 hour a day shift.

    Poor beggars!

    Yes, they are technically able to get jobs but it is very unlikley that they could get hired (and few companies even allow people as young as that) and they could only work for like a couple hours and they need a work permit.. basically it's super rare for them to get hired and it's troublesome to become qualified. Most kids that young stick to babysitting and lawnmowing, etc. So yes, it is true that they can work but VERY rare!

    In the US, not an official job - that's against child labor laws.
