NBA: Would the Clippers be better with a declining Kevin Garnett?

I think they'll force him to play C which in the West is not an easy task. They'd have a significant upgrade at coach but what do you think will Garnett's value to the Clips be?

Yes because the rumor is around that the trade will be something like,

    Boston trades: KG, Doc

Clippers trades: DeAndre Jordan, Eric Bledsoe

This trade would make sense for the Clippers now, IF they were aiming for a ring for the next few years. DeAndre Jordan is garbage. Guy is getting paid 10mill just to get hacked on in the 4th quarter... he cannot do much, and at best is a decent player imo. The guy has no post moves, no offense what so ever, cannot rebound, but he is an above average defender...which is his only decent skill besides dunking. Griffin on the other hand is a different story... For the Clippers, he brings intensity to their games with his athleticism, but once you take away his dunks, he isn't much either but an average player.

The Clippers lacked big men, which is why their playoff run didn't go very far. DeAndre Jordan is weak. I don't see him ever becoming a top 10 C in this league. He has the athleticism and skill for it, but it's just not there. I think KG beats Jordan and Griffin combined... he still has a lot of motor left and can provide what their bigs couldn't. They would automatically be a contender if you think about it.

I think Eric Bledsoe is a rising star, but either way he would be benched because the Clipps are looking to bring Paul back. So it balances out imo.

I see it as, the Clippers trying to create a contending team for right now, and getting rid of a stupid contract for an average C, in exchange for a vet future hall of fame C who still has a lot left in him and could eventually help Griffin in the long run. Also giving up their young guard to balance it out a little and they also get a good coach in return.

They could make a run at the title for one or two years, but it depends entirely on the rest of the moves the team makes. I don't really like the combination of Blake + KG

If they can some how get KG + Pierce, and trade for Dwight then they would definately be better in my opinion. KG alone will not make much of an impact.

I'm not understanding this trade talk. Garnett is 37 and plays like the aging superstar he is. Yes, he's a Hall of Famer, but at this point I'd rather have DeAndre Jordan. He's rapidly developing and can play the center position long after KG retires.

his defense is really overated at this point even though hes a deecent paint protecter if you watch him guard the post you see a lack of effort
