Can anyone tell me about Net Gear Wireless router?

I had Time Warner Cable for years with the current desk top computer I have now. It worked great, I had no problems what so ever. I moved about a year ago into an apartment building where many folks have various connections (ie...twc & dish, etc.). A few months ago I was not able to access internet any longer. I called TWC & they said there wasn't any reason why I shouldn't be able to access any web browsers to access internet.

TWC said I needed to "UPDATE" to something they wanted to sell me for an extra (hefty) fee per month so I wouldn't have the problem.

I said no, I can't afford that. I'm on a fixed income.

A friend took my systems unit to his apt. in same building and ran it all, there wasn't anything wrong with it at all, (even tho TWC said there's probably something wrong with my comp.)

Now another friend said all I need is a net gear wireless router. I have had to drop TWC as I didn't feel I ought to pay an extra $50.00 per mo. for internet service when I couldn't access internet at all.

Please advise if you have any reliable solutions. Thank you!!!

Do you propose it does not know your laptop once you start up it up back? once you close your laptop off there is not any sign going decrease to and fro between it and the router... so it would get disconnected from the router, even though it won't "ignore" your laptop. you probable ought to reconfigure the on the spot settings to promptly connect on your favored community (that router).
