Math Grade Percentage Calculation?

So I have a final exam coming up. This exam is worth 20% of my mark. My mark right now is 75%. I'm trying to find out what I need to get on my final exam to bump my mark up to 80%-86%. I don't know if it's possible, but... Can somebody tell me what I need to get on my final exam? (which is out of 65).

Thanks in advance! :)

To get 80% in the class overall, you'll need 100% on the final.

You can think of your score as 100 possible percentage points to earn. Since your final is worth 20%, the rest of the course was worth 80%. Out of these 80 possible percentage points, you earned 75% of them, or 3/4 of them.

    75% * (80) = 60.

Right now you have 60 percentage points. You would like 80 percentage points. You need 20 more percentage points to get 80 percentage points.

You have 20 percentage points available for the taking on the final. You'll need to get all 20 percentage points in order to get an 80% in the class overall.

So, to summarize, if you want 80% in the class, you'll need to get 100% or 65/65 on the final. Unless extra credit is offered, getting more than 80 percent in the class is not possible.
