    Yep. Due to something called material creep, the once aligned atoms that gave a coherent magnetic flux around a natural magnet (e.g., lodestone) will often become randomly aligned. In which case the tiny EM flux around the atoms no longer add up, but they cancel each other out. And...poof...there goes the magnetism.
