Why do people only get upset about money at church?

Why would I get upset about money? Whatever I donate is completely voluntary. Nobody sends me a bill. I receive so much from the Church that I want to support it. What's to get upset about??

Asking is like begging and should not be done.

If there is a box in the back of the room that should suffice. Those who have and are willing have a place to put their offerings. But passing a plate--which makes it then a public thing--the right hand then knows what the left is doing and everyone elses too--is not proper.

We don't have a paid ministry--we rent a small suite and have some utilities and insurances and need supplies--everyone knows this, and there is a box in the room for any who wish to contribute. The box is right next to where the cookies are and where the friends bring things to share--like stuff from their farms, so its just kind of there.

We host a weekend convention once a year and the Lord always provides that we have enough to meet our expenses and we don't have to embarrass anyone or beg for it.

Money is supposed to be given out of shraddha (belief) it need not to be asked. Asking money for blessings is like selling blessings which poor or very poor people can't afford.

bec. God says that priests are to TEACH His word to the congregation ... free of charge.

yet churches hold bible study classes and charge for them ... wrong

yet churches worship on sunday when God says saturday is the sabbath ... wrong

the church is supposed to help the poor among them , do they ...

i hate church, period.

You mean like Jesus chasing the money lenders out of the temple?

Yes, Church is like other businesses. You admit it.

Usually you get something in return for your money, the church and the damn preacher give you nothing.
