how many water tablets should i take.?

my doctor told me to take 1 a day but the chemist told me I should take 2 a day, I think maybe I should take 2 as they meant to cause me to go to the loo but they aren't. how many do every one else take who need them .please.

    depends which diuretic you are on if you are on furosemide you may need as much as 120mg a day ( 40 is normal) BUT you then need regular testing of cell potassium levels over the long term if you are on a potassium sparing diuretic like amiloride you have to very careful as they can push the potassium up to dangerous levels, presumably you have edema or congestive heart failure
