Guitar Humbucker Help Please?

I just put a Dimarzio DP100 in the bridge of my epiphone les paul, and when its on it hums kind of loud. Exept when I play the thing. But when I touch the pickup with my hand, the hum gets really loud?

    It sounds like your ground. There are a few ways to wire that pickup, I believe its a 4 wire. Like the other answerer said, check your wire, and color coding of course. Also, make sure your solder connections are good. If the solder looks hazy, it could be whats called a cold solder joint. Make sure you are using DiMarzio color codes, which are different than Duncan, EMG and factory color codes.
