For dogs try either Hot Doug's on California between Addison and Belmont or Redhot Ranch on Western just north of Armitage.
Hot Doug's really isn't that close to an L station, you can take the Blue Line to California and then take a northbound (Addison/Rockwell bound) #52 CTA bus to Hot Doug's. It's at the corner of California and Roscoe.
Redhot Ranch is near an L station however, just take the Blue Line to Western which is a stop before California coming from downtown. Then just walk north on Western, it's less than a 5 minute walk and is at the corner of Western and Dickens.
For pizza, I suggest Giordano's. There are several locations but within the Loop there is one on Jackson between Wells and Franklin.
While you are in Chicago and want to try out any of our food legends you can't leave Chicago without trying an Italian Beef. There are several locations that offer Italian Beef that is exclusive to the Chicago area, Al's Beef on Taylor Street is a good spot to try one of those or Mr. Beef on Orleans. Mr. Beef would be easier to reach from the Loop than Al's on Taylor, there are also other Al's locations both offer awesome Italian Beef's. Get one dipped with sport peppers and you'll have another Chicago food legend accomplished.
There are more places than just Al's and Mr. Beef to get an Italian Beef from though, some of the better places for these things are located outside of the Loop though, like Johnnie's in Elmwood Park which is on North Avenue west of Harlem. Portillo's is another good spot closer to the Loop, they are at Ontario and Clark.

Giordano's Pizza isn't that far from the Loop. In the loop itself, try Billy Goat Tavern for their cheesburgers and great pickles. Also, go to Weiner Circle in Lincoln Park for a Chicago dog. Also, venture near north to Ed DeBevic;s for a fun lunch.

Muskies 2872 N. Lincoln. The real deal For hotdogs and hamburgers. For pizza, the following. Thick crust pizza, Malnati's, extra sausage. However, on the S.side, thin crust is eaten. Try Aurelios. There's one downtown. They deliver. I've eaten in their southern suburb location.

Lou Malnaties and Giordonos have the best pizza. There is however not a lot of difference between all of the pizza places.
