Are US forces still being deployed to Iraq/Afghanistan?

A buddy of mine joined the army and am wondering if theyre still sending guys over there

    Afghanistan yes. The war is continuing. It is mostly understood that all forces will be withdrawn from the country by the end of 2014, however, there will still be some form a troop presence in the country.

    Iraq they ended in December 2011, however, they still have intelligence groups monitoring the country as well as a small military force for there embassy.

    Is there a way that I can find out if an old classmate who went to Afghanistan is still over there fighting? If he is still there, how can I send him a letter electronically or by mail?

    YES!!! thousands of soldiers still in Iraq under Title 22 of US Code, tens of thousands of contractors and state dept officials. A rose by another name to dupe the American public.

    I honestly dont think so since its dying out my friend is coming home in aug!!!! He says its pretty rough out there so honestly who knows

    The Iraq war is OVER. So, they aren't sending troops there.
