How cold can it get in hawaii?

On most of the islands the coldest it gets is 60 degrees. However on the the top of Mauna Kea which in Hawaiian means white mountain it snows enough to ski. Maina Kea is on the Big Island.

Depends on elevation. The top of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea on the Big Island are at about 12,000 feet and Haleakala on Maui is at 10,000 feet. All three of these can have sub-freezing temperatures.

I live on Maui at about 850 feet elevation...and the winter temps at night can get into the 50's. Summer temps are like upper 60's at night and mid-80's in the daytime... The coast is about 5 degrees warmer..

Most people believe that Hawaii is this beautiful, South Pacific paradise...and they are close. In reality, Hawaii is a beautiful paradise, but it's in the North Pacific...and the latitude is not much further south than the most southern tips of Texas or Florida...

if you are staying at sea level it really doesn't get that cold, maybe 60 degrees at the lowest, like sweater weather.

Depends where you are. On the tall mountains on the big island you can go snow skiing.
