how much mature content is in "A song of Ice and Fire"?
Ever since I read Lord of the Rings, I have been wanting a new fantasy series to read. There is only one thing that I want to know however, and that is how much mature content is there? If there is any, what context is it in? I heard that there is some sex in it, but it is portrayed in a negative light. I don't mind mature content, depending on how it is portrayed, and how detailed it is.

There's explicit sex, rape and incest.

Then you won't have a problem with it. Seriously, nobody else can tell where your personal comfort line is. Try it. If you're not comfortable with it, stop.
Let's put it this way. I haven't encouraged my 13 year old to try it. He read LotR before he was seven.

The sex scenes can get quite detailed, but they aren't in every chapter. They are in every book, yes, and some are often joked about among the fandoms, but that is due to the choice of words.
