Is Skyrim worth at least one full playthrough?

I know I'm a bit late on the bandwagon, but I always am.

I played Oblivion and didn't care for it much, but everyone is telling me Skyrim is loads better. I can get it on eBay fairly cheap now and was wondering if it was worth the spare change?

Skyrim is in some ways better. But you lose a lot of the ability customization in oblivion. It's a prettier more streamlined take on the series. The fact that you're thinkinng of it as a playthrough suggests to me that you played oblivion wrong. Elder scrolls is about exploration and discovery. Literally just do what you feel like and you'll have a good time.

    Yes definitely.

I got into the ElderScrolls series from watching friends play Morrowind (before Oblivion). I really wanted to get into the series so I bought Oblivion and tried hard to keep playing. I got bored though. I ended up buying and selling the game 3 times and never finished it lol..

I think Oblivions problem was that it takes itself very seriously, but the gameplay mechanics where not advanced enough to keep up with it. The little details such as character movement is what turned me off.

SKYRIM is NOTHING like that. I'm not exaggerating when I say that Skyrim is 10x better than Oblivion. Everything is better. Graphics, story, variety, random events, movement. It's perfected. You might have observed that Skyrim is regarded very highly within the gaming community. It's for a good reason. There has been a lot of work put into it.

You'll get so many hours of the game that it's worth every penny for sure.

My personal recommendation for you to get involved in the game, is to take your time. Really feel the game. Play it as if the character is you and you're fighting in the world. Try and get immersed and get involved. It will make your experience all the more fantastic :) Also make sure you get around to the Dark Brotherhood quests. That was my favorite section of the entire game. Got me emotionally involved.

I was sceptical of the game at first because of my previous experience with Oblivion, but boy was I in for a surprise.

Source(s): Bethesda is a fantastic company. And they produce fantastic games. Also try Fallout: New Vegas. It has the same mechanics as Oblivion (bit of a turn off) but it's fantastic (:

Yes,you can play Skyrim for any amount of playthrough.

Like,it wont be boring unless your very good at whining about how the game is too hard and how slow it is to level up your character.
