I can not restore my computer.?

Each time I try I get the following message " sr did not complete successfully it

failed to extract the file. The restore point was damaged or deleted during the restore.

I need help if possible.

    Elaboration would be helpful please, troubleshooting will differ depending on the operating system being used.
