Do you think Paula Dean is crying because she is ashamed of the racial slurs she used or because her empire is?
collapsing around her. I believe the latter, when this first came out and she was interviewed she never shed a tear but now, suddenly she's weeping all over the place.
There is never an excuse, nor has there ever been, for using that word. Paula should take her millions and just go away.

Yes, I agree w/you. Did u catch her performance on the "Today" show Weds morning? I didn't come away w/the sense that she was ashamed. At one pt she said, "I is what I is." In other words, I've used slurs, but, hey, that's just me.
If she thought she'd do damage control on "Today," she was wrong. She whined and wheedled and blamed her predicament on people who never knew her.
What corporation is going to want to be associated with such a pathetic figure? Not Walmart. They dumped her just hours after "Today.".
She rose from near trailer trash status to make it Big. I'm sure she's terrified she's now headed back down to trailer-dom.
Perhaps it's food kharma returned to haunt her. Her recipes are loaded w/fat, salt and sugar. Our obese nation does not need offerings like her fried Twinkies.
