Question for underweight people? (especially teenage girls?)?

I am currently 103 pounds and 5'4. I underwent a diet starting last August and I have lost over 20 pounds and I completely regret it. Throughout this past year, I not only lost my period (last period was in September), but I have also acquired a terrible bloating as well as constipation. I am now trying to regain weight by eating more, but my constipation has prevented me from eating a lot since I cannot get bowel movements. I usually go without one for a week and then is forced to take a laxative in order to empty my colon. My question is did you ever have the same problems as I do? And if so, how did you cure it? I eat lots of fruit and vegetables (could eat more) and I try to limit my junk food; I also drink 10+ cups of water everyday and eat lots of fiber, so I know my daily food intake is good. I just can't understand why I am still suffering from severe chronic constipation because right after I empty out my colon, I usually eat a lot and should that stimulate a bowel movement? Please help, thanks!

Medication is only a very temporary solution for constipation, if it works.

Wheat germ and wheat bran are very high fiber foods that often help for constipation.

Constipation can cause anal fissures, hemorrhoids and also some far more serious problems as in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22rectal+blee...

    .

You probably need to improve your diet as you seem to have a constipation problem.

For constipation, castor oil is very good for a one-off remedy as in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22castor+oil+... but it is unsuitable for regular use.

For constipation, suppositories, laxatives, fiber supplements and enemas are all totally unnecessary if you eat the right foods.

All fruit and vegetables in very large amounts are laxative.

You need to permanently change your diet or you are likely to get colon cancer.

Constipation can make you extremely unwell and can lead to colon cancer as it causes a build up of carcinogenic toxins in the system.

The intake of foods such as milk, cheese, white rice, white flour and red meat should be restricted, because they tend to contribute to constipation.

Any food that has had the fiber stripped out, the nutrients processed out or slows down the digestion is a constipation culprit. Here's a list of foods shown to cause constipation problems:

•Meats, especially fatty meats, red meat and processed meats,

•Dairy Products, such as cheese, ice cream and whole milk,

•Fast Foods – burgers, French fries and other fried foods, pizza, etc.,

•Refined grains, like white rice or any refined white flour products,

•Highly starchy foods – white potatoes, corn and all refined grains,

•Pastries and other high sugar products, such as cakes, cookies and pies,

•Deep-fried foods, chips and other foods that are high in bad fats.

You can see lots more in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22natural+way... which tells you "Natural Ways to Relieve Constipation" and the right foods to eat.

I know how you feel! I'm 15 years old and only 5'3 and I recently have only become 93 pounds due to a surgery I had. I'm always getting constipated and it seems no matter what I do I can't make it better. I'm going to the doctors and they don't know why I'm feeling this was either. I also drink TONS of water haha and have a good diet. Just what I've learned the past few week (cus this is a new problem for me too) is don't eat till you get overly full you know what I mean? Also it helps to instead like 3 meals a day eat 6 snacky food. But don't eat too much at one time cus it will make it worse, especially after emptying the colon. you can eat right after but dont pig out Haha. i dont know for sure if that will work for you but it does for me and i feel the exact same as you. it doesnt better complety either haha but it makes it way better than Usual. And i dont Drink soda haha Also, I'm in the same boat on your period haha I haven't had mine since August 2012 and it was 21 days so its really like separatic. But people who are under weight (like me) don't have periods. And the first few years girls have their periods they can go months on end with our periods but later in life it should become more normal. But don't worrie light weight people just don't have as many. But I mean from the few I have had i can't complain. Yea it worries me sometimes but it's kind of nice not having to deal with it haha. Well anyways just don't feel alone because I'm going through the same exact thing and its really nice knowing I'm not alone anymore<3 just don't feel alone and you can talk to your doctors if you want. Hope this made you feel better and less alone(:

I had the same problem when I was younger, so mother took me to the doctor and found out I was allergic to wheat and gluten. Maybe it's an allergy. I hope this helps?
