How can I be stronger, emotionally.?

I always cry in a secret place. My family has never seen me cry. I try so hard not to cry. I cry to easily like when ever my family says something mean to me ( not all the time we are a decent family). Or they hit me not like in an abusive eat, but I end up crying. I want to be strong. I feel like crying when nobody in my family will talk to me. So I want to be stronger emotionally any help.
