how many Martial artist here drink heavily?
While I train a lot, I have an average body (better than most people my age) which I attribute to my drinking. I usually have a $2000 credit card bill and about $1500 is beer related, I just got back from a great bender. can anyone here relate?
@ John
That's in a month not one night

Nothing better than hitting the bar and getting sloshed after a hard training session.

Are you perhaps studying drunken boxing?
I only rarely drink. I spend at most like $10 a month on it. Basically it's the very occasional wine cooler, or a mixed drink on poker night, the smell of beer kinda makes me sick, so I avoid it. You seriously should consider cutting back. While a bit of alcohol can be good for you, it sounds like you're going crazy with it. You shouldn't be able to buy a used car with two months worth of beer money.

When I was younger I REALLY enjoyed a good drunk, and maybe I shouldn't say this, but I wasn't against a little "Herbal medicine" either...ah, the carefree days of youth. Back then I thought getting loaded (Do they still say that?) actually helped my fighting and opened up new insights into techniques, and maybe it did.
But that was a long time ago, now that i'm getting older...and older...and older, I no longer find as much pleasure in it as I used to, not to say that I don't tie one on now and then, but those times are few and far between.
EDIT:
I am NOT condoning drinking or anything else by the younger generation!, just sayin' how it was for me.

I don't. Not at all.
I have accepted martial arts as a life style and believe that it is important to make good decisions and to be in control of myself. I am not perfect but I try to be the best I can be. Most people respect me for my actions and my good behavior. I love to have a good time and hanging out with friends and remembering all of it.
I utterly fail to see the fun in doing stupid things, I will not be able to remember, saying things that will come back and haunt me later and possibly ruin opportunities for me, having a headache and a being sick to my stomach. I have lost respect for many martial artists because of drinking and doing things that are totally unacceptable and behaving in a lewd, crude, loud and obnoxious manner hardly becoming of a gentleman or a lady. Moreover, it is one thing to choose to do these things and make a fool of oneself it is another thing to be intoxicated and then be irresponsible on top and get in a car and drive home. I have lost friends to dunk drivers and there is never an excuse for that.

I have a very low tolerance. I drink maybe 8 times a year and can only handle maybe a 6 pack before I get waisted. Three beers and I tipsy the whole night so that is where i stop lol

No, I don't drink. I am exposed to alcohol and drugs on a daily basis at school, but I've never done either. I guess the thought of intoxication and not remembering anything really doesn't appeal to me, nor does the thought of a hangover. Then again, I've been to McDonald's once in my life, when I was five. I'd eaten healthy food all my life so when I tried to eat "french fries" I vomited. Yeah.

1500$ in beer? Are you serious? I think I spend that much in a year. I drink when I go out or when I'm at parties but no where near that much.
Edit:
Yeah, I figured out it was in a month. It's still a ridiculous amount of money.

That's great lol. Personally I don't drink very often but when I do, I prefer DosEquis....
Just kidding. But I seriously do not drink often. I have to be in the mood for it.
