Are pitball dogs legal if they have a tattoo?
someone gave a dog to a neighbour, said it was a pitbull, but that it wasn't dangerous... I really don't think it's a good idea for him to take the dog on..

assuming by tattoo you mean in his ear, for identification, then that would mean at some point he went to a vet.
This doesn't guarantee he has had his shots but a vet should be able to look up records by that tattoo, and confirm if he has a micro chip.
is it a male or female?how old? has it been fixed? has it had its vaccinations? all important questions to ask the prior owner.
as far as I know Pit bulls are only illegal in Ontario (but if there older than the regulations, they are allowed) but I would still confirm with your local laws..
don't dismiss the dog just by its breed, the most amazing loveable dogs i have ever met are bully breeds.
Just like any dog they just need time, love and attention

The tattoo is another way of identification should the dog get lost or stolen.
Its usually inside the ear and has nothing to do with the being legal or illegal.

What do you mean it has a tattoo? How does a dog get a tattoo? And pit bulls are only dangerous if you don't train them right. I have an 8 year old pit bull who has never so much as growled at another living creature.
