how comes my gum shield not staying in my mouth anymore :S?

my gum shield did work for a while and now it decides to not even stick in my mouth at all... i had this same problem with my last gum shield... i tried doing the whole "putting in boiling water" thing again and that but it still not working :(...

I got training tonight and were gonna be doing sparring (i know this cause it was mentioned by my instructor)... so now i'm annoyed :(...

but to be honest all i want to know is why don't my gum shield stay in my mouth now :S

Well once a mouth piece is formed you usually can't continue to reform it and get a good fit. This is why a lot of times if you don't know what you are doing you will usually ruin a couple of them before finally getting it right. So continuing to reform it like you are will not work probably.

As for your other problem; teeth shift and move some and if you are doing a lot of growing or have had a tooth extracted recently or maybe some other dental work then that could accelerate your teeth shifting and moving some. Also fighting and sparring can cause this shifting and moving of teeth as well. You might need to purchase a new one and form it I suspect.

There are many different variations of protective mouth guards for teeth protection!

If that one doesn't work or fit ?

Go purchase a few until you get the proper comfort level.

It also helps to breathe thru your mouth once the piece is in!
