no, the airbags and module are junk. there is no repair i know of, they must be replaced.

edit* wrecking yards have a few good airbags, dash covers and undeployed modules.

What above said, they cannot be re-used if they deployed. If certain ones didn't deploy like if you had side curtain bags. Then those are ok as long as they were not damaged

But they can all be replaced but this is usually an insurance item more than anything since they insurance rate is a lot cheaper than any other rate. Usually who ever does the body work fixes ALL that is wrong with the vehicle including SIR System. And for the cost, you will need to find this out since we do not know which ones deployed.

Also, for the record. Once the repairs are complete, if the SIR light stays on, it means the problem is still present. There is no CODE CLEAR on SIR system. The light will go out if the problem is fixed or gone

Well, you are no quite clear as to what you wish to know. Once deployed the complete module needs to be replaced as a new unit. Costs? Well, that depends on the damage to the car and the airbags is included in the repair costs. I am sure that the airbags in a Mercedes-Benz are quite more costly than in a Kia. As such the vehicle and year must be known. Call a dealership's service department for such information. As a general rule air bags should be replaced at the manufacturer's designated year of service schedule. For my Audi is it fifteen years. No, I have not asked yet as to that job.

If you mean can the original air bag be stuffed back and held in place with duct tape, NO.

They must be replaced with one that has NOT been blown.

Seems like I read somewhere they are about 600 dollars, and must be installed by a professional to prevent accidental deployment during installation.

Yes they can be replaced. I'm sure that our life and hospital charges costs more than airbag. So I hope you won't ignore it after knowing its cost.

Dear, if you are in india which I presume, do not visit one of the local markets/garages where quite a bit is in the possible realm. If you love your life and your near and dear ones go to the dealer and ask him to fix it with original stuff. A comprehensive insurance should take care of that. If not, sorry about it but all that saving the insurance bill will have to paid out now.
