Is this OS good for gaming?
I'm planning on switching from Win7 to Gentoo Linux (no discussion about that) and I want to know if it's good for gaming. I don't wanna hear no "Windows is better than Linux and vice versa" bullshit cuz I've had Windows XP, Vista, 7 and I'm about to buy a Win8 tablet, so I'm no "fanboy" or anything. I've got an 1.30 GHz AMD processor with HD Graphics, is that good for gaming on Linux or bad?
@Chris: I'm not just wondering if Linux is good for gaming, but if Gentoo (an Linux distro) is good for gaming. I already know that Ubuntu, Arch and Mint are awesome when it comes to gaming but overall I prefer Gentoo. And when I mean games I mean normal PC games, and downloads from Steam.

i might incredibly propose a working laptop or pc. maximum video games are not Mac compatible (even with the certainty that this has replaced slightly recently) and might require you to run a living house windows emulator to have the skill to play them. additionally, i does not unavoidably propose living house windows Vista merely yet. DirectX10 has some fancy effective factors, yet many times there isn't plenty which you will not get via making use of living house windows XP - the greater overall performance greater then makes up for it. i might elect XP for now, and improve to Vista as quickly because it has more desirable slightly. even with the certainty that, in case you're construction a gaming gadget and it is rapid sufficient, there is not any reason to not use Vista. Definately not a Mac however. game enthusiasts use computers around the board.
