No. Alcohol dries out your piercing and is way too harsh for a healing piercing. You want to use non-iodized sea salt. 1/4 tsp + 1 cup of warm water, soak your piercing in it twice a day. Everyday when you shower use a mild antibacterial fragrance free soap and clean your piercing.
Just for future reference, when you have an infected piercing you don't want to take the jewelry out. That traps the infection inside when it heals and it can spread.

Okay- I work at Claire's. I've worked with the company for over two years and I have seen a lot of infections/irritations that could have been easily prevented. Like many other people have said- rubbing alcohol will dry out your piercing. It will also prolong the healing period, meaning if you try to switch out your earrings you'll face irritation. Also- it can burn, it can sting, it just isn't a fun option. Why have to face that? What you want to use is Benza Chloride. It's the Claire's ear piercing antiseptic. You can get a small bottle for $2.50. Seriously. Just spend the two fifty. The solution is gentle, yet effective. It's going to help your piercing heal quicker and better. Using Dial and warm water can leave residue, it may not get all the way into the piercing to disinfect and it may create irritation and may be too harsh. Hope this helps!

NEVER use rubbing alcohol on a piercing, ever. This will dry out the piercing and it won't heal properly and most likely cause scarring. You should use a non-alcohol based anti-septic twice a day, every day for at least two or three weeks (more if it's a long healing area like the cartilage of the ear).

I would recommend sea salt. Use a homemade solution of sea salt and warm water. Use a cotton ball or something to soak your ear with it. Sea salt will draw out any infection to help the healing process. You can use a 1/4 teaspoon per cup of water, or I would get a small amount of water and a pinch of salt, but don't over salt it because that can dry out your ear.
Whatever you do. Do NOT take out your piercing! Taking out your piercing can allow the infection to heal under the skin and form an abscess. I've been told by my piercer if I'm having any trouble to leave it alone and come in immediately. If you continue to have a lot of trouble go to a professional piercer and they can help you loads. If you want your piercing to heal properly you're going to have to soak it in salt water regularly, and if you're bad at keeping up with that(I know I am) get something like H2Ocean. It's an easy saltwater spray that works wonders and you don't have to prepare it all yourself.
Good luck with your piercings!

Make sure you are using high quality hypoallergenic earrings. I ran into the same problem. Rubbing alcohol will work. Or just the typical ear cleaning fluid that most places supply you with when you get the piercing. Do not overclean them or they will dry out and become irritated. turn them often.

when it burns, it is literally burning. I wouldnt recommend it, but for a couple occasions it is fine. Buy some cleaning stuff from claires or iceing or some place like that because they sell it for like $8
