Why does Windows Explorer keep disappearing?
Windows Explorer keeps disappearing and reappearing on my Win7 laptop just like that. I don't have any malware or viruses (I've checked) and my speed is better than ever. I've also checked the settings and there was no solution. I've also rebooted and tried Safe Mode, which worked but I'd rather just get it fixed. I need SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY. IF your answer is related to speed and some downloadable software you'll automatically have your answer reported. Don't know the answer?, then don't answer.

Safe mode only loads the drivers necessary to work on a basic level.
So if it worked perfectly in safe mode, then it could be one of your drivers that is causing the issue with explorer.exe
It could be the graphics driver, or some other driver that is corrupt or incompatible with your system.
You can try either temporary disabling or updating these drivers in device manager to see which is the one causing the problem.

hey - it's been hapenning on my machine too, but when it does, it comes right back up, and kills all my open windows explorers (because windows explorer is also the desktop). it's a bug. complain on the windows 7 feedback page. google that.
it's crashing randomly. it's not supposed to crash.
