How to turn a font into a picture?

I am not really sure how to explain this but I downloaded a special font from dafont.com and saved it into word and I can use it on word but nowhere else (unless I put it on a picture or something and save it) But I want to somehow turn JUST the font into a picture or icon kind of thing if that makes since?

Well there's a couple of ways you can do this. If you have Windows 7, it's easy. Type the font in Word as big as you want it to be. I'm guessing it's one letter of the font. Whatever it is, doesn't matter.

Click on the windows button and type snipping. (it should show you the snipping tool program) When snipping tool it running, click NEW then draw a box around the font in Word.

This will make the Snipping Tool active with your font showing. Click on the save icon and give it a name. Viola`! there's your font as an image.

    Problems just ask.

Okay I recently broke my cpu, but I think I can remember this. Save it as a jpeg file in word. When you go to file click save as the scroll until you find (.jpeg) click it and save. If that doesn't work. Try saving it to a powerpoint and follow the same steps and for certain you will see .jpeg.

    Word:

    1) save document

    2) click file again and go to save as.

    3) it should have two bars; name and save as

    4) drop down the save as button *blue v arrow* it will drop a huge box

    5) scroll until you find .jpeg or just. Jpeg

    6) click jpeg and name or rename then click save

    7) go into pictures, it should be there

If you installed it correctly you can use it in Microsoft Paint where you can save it as an image. If you cannot use it in Microsoft Paint, you can take a screen capture with the [PRT SC] key on your keyboard, paste the screen shot in paint and then save the image.
