No, your betta fish does not need a light at night. In fact, it is best that you not have a light on at night that way the betta can sleep.
Fish do not need a light, and are really only for display, live plants and/or owner preference.
Good luck with your future betta, they make great pets and are beautiful fish!

No, fish should not have a light at night, as they need a natural night day cycle. And unlike most fish, your betta will sleep at night too. Make sure you have the correct tank and food. I would say a 5 gallon at least. Those mini tanks and bowls are ludicrous.

Is your house cold? Is it room temp? If its room temp turn it off at night. They need to rest and it sure does bother people when they try to sleep with light. Turn off the light or it may cause the Betta to become stressed and tired and not rested. Turn it off, they only need like 8 hours of light.
