Would my black neighbors be offended if i offered them some watermelon?

Question

I bought this watermelon and cut it up and now I have 3 huge bowls of watermelon. It's way more than I can eat and its gonna go bad. I'm one of the only white people in my building and I'm not sure if I should go around offering watermelon to the black folks? I hate to throw it away though.

If you have people in the building that you are kind of friends with, meaning you see and talk to them on occasion; then you can explain them the situation and offer it to them. I wouldn't go up to a stranger and do it, they may get the wrong impression.

maybe, but i wouldn't. they probably might though, so if you do, be brave and explain yourself. i wish i had some watermelon right now though!

Just tell them the story and say you're not being racist. If they're cool, they won't really care :P

I don't think so. If you offered them skin whitening soaps, then I think they'd be offended.
