Switched birth control and missed period?

I normally take Loestrin 24 and get my period every month but last month my pharmacy gave me Lo Loestrin Fe instead, I thought my birth control was switched to generic so I didn't question it. But this month when I picked up my birth control it was Loestrin 24 again and now I realize the pharmacy must have made a mistake. I am sexually active but my boyfriend and I also use other methods of birth control and he has never ejaculated in me. My period is now a week late. Is this only because of the birth control switch and am I still protected against pregnancy even though I switched and switched back birth controls? I know Loestrin 24 has more active pills than Lo Loestrin. Please help!!

You should have protected sex for the first month of switching birth controls. And it's guaranteed that when you switch your brand of pills, you'll miss your next period, and possibly the one after that, it takes your body time to adjust to the new hormones being entered into your body.

It sounds very likely that the switch in the pill is causing the late period. Did you begin the second pack on time, even tho your period didn't come? You should do that.

i would think your fine. ive done that before and i wasnt pregnant. if your really that worried take a pregnancy test. if you use condoms you should be fine but its always good to do a test.
