Can occupational therapists have tattoos?

hello, I'm 19 a nd I'm in college to become an occupational therapist, thus weekend I want to get my first tattoo, a very small cross on my wrist. I'm worried though because people say that it is more diffucult to get jobs with visible tattoos. but going into healthcare almost all of my studying nursing friends have tattoos and facial peircings... what do you think?

    Although I am not an employer, I have enough sense to realize that a tattoo has no bearing on the type of potential employee you will be. Hopefully, the employer will have this same clarity of thought. The prejudice toward tattoos and piercings is fading. As you mention most of the other students have them also. If all the candidates for a job have tattoos, a tattooed candidate will be selected. Let's hope in the very near future jobs will be awarded to the best candidate based on qualifications not self expression. Throughout your life, your little cross shall do you more good than harm.

    Personally tattoos are becoming more toleratable. However some employers still don't like them. But if its small on your wrist, you could always wear a watch to cover it if you find out later that you can't have any visible tattoos.
