so have red heads been under counted in the population or do i just know too many thought red was rare?
OK so how rair is it that most of the people I know are red heads I thought it was a raid mutation or something ... I'm a red head so is my hubbie both his sisters are and so is one of thems baby and his mom my sister is a red head so is my mom my two bffs are red heads two of my cousins are as well at least 5more of my aquantences are red heads as well I really just noticed it when me my sis and my bff were hanging out ...... idk its weirding me out a bit how I never took notice before but I sereusly wonder if us red heads are as fair as thought to be ? So I guess the question is is it fair or have red heads been under counted in the population .

it is rare, but it is also grossly estimated how rare the gene is.NPR says the gene will be gone by 2050, which is bull.

Redheads are rare, but the distribution is not uniform. Certain areas have more redheads than others.
For instance, Scotland has a higher proportion of redheads than most countries. Therefore if a higher proportion of Scots emigrated to a particular area of the United States then there would "ceteris paribus" or other things being equal, be a higher proportion of redheads in that area compared to areas where Scots did not emigrate to. Redheaded genes get passed on from generation to generation.
Similarly in areas where there are a lot of Asian or Hispanic immigration. Black hair is more prevalent than in areas with little of this population type.
Overall, redheads are rarer than other types, but are more common in certain areas than in others.
