I'm dieting, but I'm so hungry and food's so tempting!?
I'm trying to diet, I didn't like my dinner so didnt eat it. it's 1am and my brother is sitting across from me eating 2 boxes of microwave chips, I can smell them and I'm extremely tempted to eat! I can't control myself & wish I can eat some right now! I'm 16 and a half stones, so fat and I really want to lose weight but I'm hungry at the moment and so tempted to eat (unhealthy) foods like chips.
It's the summer holidays and I have nothing to do so always bored, I don't know if this will tempt me to eat more. HELPPP!!

This may or may not help you, but i found the key to my weight loss was gum.
Whenever I'd get hungry, I'd stick a piece of gum in my mouth. It'll temporarily trick your body into thinking you're actually getting something, and many times if you have that strong flavor in your mouth, other foods won't sound so appealing.
Water is also important. Many times when we think we're hungry, our body actually wants water. When you get hungry like this, chug a full glass of ice cold water, maybe even 2 if you can. In about half an hour if you're still hungry, then you can eat a light snack

Ok, here are some things.
The best diets involve eating, not avoiding eating. So you didn't like dinner, find something healthy to eat instead.
Try exercising, this is a way to suppress appetite. Also being hungry you will probably wake up early in the morning, so get out of bed, exercise them eat.

Become an expert in what exactly you’re doing. Learn how and why things work after which it you’ll have faith that they'll. Check out a podcast known as Cut The Fat, and focus on it when you’re exercising.

Put a two litre water bottle along with a glass on your desk every morning. Get through it simply by lunch, and do the same inside afternoon. You’ll exercise better as well as recover faster if you’re hydrated. I drink some water every time someone asks me a absurd question or sends a dumb email... find something that works for you personally!

Seriously don't deprive your body of food, because that will destroy your metabolism and make it SO hard to lose any weight at all. Try eating something healthier, fruit or something? If you're just craving the chips on impulse, I've found brushing your teeth helps. (I swear it's the minty taste).

you need to distract yourself - step outside, take a shower, read a book - somewhere away from the food, and away from tv, which has too many food commercials on it!
After you get through tonight, make a list of things to do - your summer should not be boring! Think of things that get you moving - canoeing, walking, rollerblading, swimming.. but also other things, such as reading, woodworking projects etc,..

Obtain smaller plates. Little crockery means portion control is significantly easier – those diminutive parts suddenly look huge and you’ll be happier to take less.
