Have I used "albeit" correctly?

..."and had the best view possible, albeit being on the arena floor itself."

Can you use albeit for "other than"? I'm not too sure...

I don't need suggestions for the sentence, thank you, just if the use of albeit is correct or not!

Thanks.

Update:

They sat nearest the arena, separated by a wall, and had the best view possible, besides being on the arena floor itself.

I just changed it to "besides", it doesn't need to sound too formal or anything. Thanks for the help.

To tell you that "albeit" is or is not correct is impossible without commenting on the sentence as a whole.

What is incorrect is associating "albeit" with "being."

"I had the best view possible, albeit one from the area floor.." is OK

To preserve "being" the sentence must become "I had the best view possible, despite my being..."

it is ok in this context. it is a modern way of saying 'all be it', as if the situation the person finds themselves in is unusually satisfactory.
