Bike wobbling when not holding handlebars?

I just added a rear rack to my bike and I noticed that if I stop pedaling and let go of the handlebars the fork starts to wiggle left and right getting progressively stronger each time what is causing this?

Don't let go of the handlebar. Problem solved.

Rim is out of true. The phenomenon is called harmonic resonance. It could happen at some speed and not at other.

Get it trued and keep practicing. You never know when you will win a stage and need to punch the sky.

Unless the rack is very heavy on it's own it would not affect it. Do you mean when loaded with luggage? It shouldn't do that, I would recommend checking or getting it checked the tyres, wheels and headset for trueness and tightness.

Thomas, that happens with all bikes. The road isn't perfect, and the way you pedal isn't either.

    Was the road smooth?

You should not take your hands off the handle bars.
