polo shirt help??????????????????????

when i wash my polo shirts they always seem to go funny at the waist part (bottom). Like the front will shrink abit, so basically the front is abit shorter than the back and looks stupid because when i stand straight there's like a crease down the front. they also get quit wide at the bottom. hard to explain but basically i don't iron my polos so do you reckon that would help the situation? it really annoys me because i buy designer polos and it pisses me off when it gets ruined over washing it. Can hanging it to dry also stretch it because i do that aswell.
