i have a plastic spring rifle, but it doesn't work all that well. i am afraid to ask my dad and when i ask my mom she sends me on a guilt trip. i don't know what to do.

If they let you buy one, they will let you get another one. Your only option is to bear with the guilt trip and just ignore it. You want a gun, a good gun that you can have fun with that isn't a poop springer. Just tough it out and ask.

Just buy a new one, they won't notice. If you don't have the money, just get a job like mowing lawns or washing cars.
