mailing a submarine crew at port?

I want to mail some thank you letters to members of the U.S.S. ALASKA Gold Crew at their home Port.

Nobody on the base will return my calls, and the base phone operator is not in service any longer. The Web searches show the APO address from Bangor. It is now at Kings Bay. I am sure they have an In Port Office.

Can anyone out there say, " Military Intelligence " ?

Thanks so much !

I am a former SSBN732 crewmember. The address you seek is:

    USS Alaska SSBN 732

    FPO AP 96698-2111

Some of the response you got are funny :)

There are no marines guarding her.

One night stands? Good grief. LOL

Navy does NOT have APO addresses they have FPO and it would be in the process of being changed. You can send it to the FPO AP addres but it would then be forwarded or you contact the Public Affairs Office at Kings Bay and get it from there

LOL! How many of the crew do you know? Their home port is now Kings Bay. If you know someone on the crew they will tell you how to contact them. You are talking about a nuclear powered ballistic missile attack submarine. You need to know someone on the sub. They have Marines guarding it when in port.

@ET1, There are no Marines guarding her? There are Marine security forces guarding every nuclear powered and/or nuclear armed US naval vessel in the world. It's hard to believe you served on an SSBN and don't know this. We have flown Marine security teams across continents and oceans to secure nuclear vessels.

I have great respect for squids and the US Navy. I would only ask you why we have a Marine security force at Kings Bay if it isn't to guard the nuclear vessels since that is their job. http://www.mcsfr.marines.mil/Units/MCSFBattalionKi... Look at the trident, missiles, and submarine on their logo.

The Marines at Kings Bay damned sure aren't there for amphibious exercises.

The person you want to write to must give you the proper name numbers and APO address. That keeps one night stand people from bothering our troops. Good luck with that.
