How can I change my HWID?
I'm moving tomorrow, and I want to create a new account on a game that I play. The rule is that if you create one account, you are stuck with it forever, and they check that it's you by your IP address and your HWID. I figured this was a good opportunity to make a new account since I'm moving cities and I'll have a legitimately new IP address, but I still need to worry about my HWID.
Will reinstalling Windows 7 using System Restore work? I don't see how it would, but some people say it might. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium (x64)

The hardware ID is a combination of things, in your computer.
Unless you have the original disks for Windows- and are ready to reinstall and use your license file again.. then you have a problem.
Windows won't give you a free reinstall if the HWID changes.
If something were to happen - like you removed your hard disk and replaced it.. along with one or two other things, like a CD drive and maybe memory or better - an upgraded video card; then you reinstall Windows - you may see a problem with the Hardware ID. Call Microsoft, tell them about the parts you fixed or upgraded, and they should help you re-license Windows.
If you have a problem re-installing Windoz, then you definitely have a changed hwid.
If you have a big-name computer, with a label on it for license.. then you may still have changed HWID, but they look at BIOS config more to verify machine. You could change HWID and have no problem reinstalling.
The idea is you have to actually change hardware to change the HWID.
