Recapturing CO2 emissions?

I realize that if possible, it would most likely be very difficult, but regardless of difficulty - I'd like to know if it is plausible to recapture CO2 emissions that are emitted from car exhausts, coal factories, etc. and utilize that gas to create more energy - Obviously there will be some CO2 emissions regardless, but I presume that if this was possible that they could be lowered significantly.

CO2 capture is possible but expensive and probably impractical as it almost certainly would involve expending more energy. Generating energy from CO2 is not feasible unless energy is expended converting the CO2 to some other entity like methane for example.
