I'm so scared he won't make it?

My boyfriend of a year and a half was in a really bad accident while playing football. Because of this, he has to get this "simple" surgery. It's gonna take up to two hours, if they're aren't any complications. They say he only has a 0.02 percent chance of dying. I don't want anything bad to happen to him because I love him so much. Today, the day before the surgery, we were sitting on his hospital bed and cuddling. He randomly just asked, "Do you think I'll make it tomorrow?" I was so scared after that because he was being so pessimistic. I just need someone to tell me he's gonna be alright. His family are in the same state as I am and it's killing me. It's hard enough for me to write this because I'm sobbing.
