okay so i have water polo practice every day at 5:30 in the morning, i have a friend in water polo who lives very close to me. last summer, i practically took him to EVERY practice and games because he lives really close to me but i don't mind because he's a nice guy. however, i had to call him every single morning to wake him up and it's getting kinda annoying doing it. now this summer, he asked me to give him rides if he needs them and all and of course i said sure because i don't mind. i just hate having to call him or text him first. shouldn't he be the one to text me first when he's ready or if he ever needs a ride? should i continue to text/call him in the morning and wait for his reply or just wait for him to text/call me first?

I've been in your shoes before. Sometimes you are being a good friend but people become comfortable and sometimes take advantage of you not on purpose. Sometimes it is on purpose. Be careful you can be helpful, but it is not your responsibility to contact him. You are doing him the favor and you don't have to. Make sure that you set standards when helping people even friends because people will having you doing everything before you know it. Let him know you don't mind giving him rides but that he is to contact you.

If he's going to be that rude about it I would definitely not wait around for him do your thing and if he says anything let him know your sick of playing mommy if he needs a ride he should let you know ahead of time
