Possibly quitting volleyball?
I have asthma really bad. I get out of breath instantly. It's really scary actually. Every time we run I run out of breath right away. I'm really not sure what I should do. I'm on medication but nothing seems to be helping. Don't get me wrong, I love the sport, but I'm afraid I'll have an attack (I have had one before--it's hell). I've talked with the coach before, but she doesnt seem to understand. I'm also afraid I'll miss my friends. I'm also worried that if I don't play sports, people may think I'm not "cool" and they won't want to hang out with me.
Is there any other kinds of activities I could do? I was thinking about playing guitar. I also want to start doing yoga, and possibly bike riding more. Any ideas?

It sounds like you are wise to listen to your body and what it is telling you. I think the ideas you have about learning to play guitar and taking up yoga sound great, as well as trying bike riding, within your tolerances. You won't change as a person, so you will continue to be just as "cool" as you were before if you stop playing volleyball. Is there a way to be still involved with the team (if you wish to be) but not as active, say as a replacement player or as an assistant coach? Use the skills you learned as a player and direct them towards another way.
