What pioneer-type names can you think of?
I'm looking for a dog name that has to do with pioneers. For a boy I was going to name him Pioneer, with "Pi" as a nickname, but I'm not sure if we end up getting a girl.So far I've thought of Bonnet or Legacy, but I'm not so sure. I don't want them to be too common for people (and I love nicknames like Sadie and Molly for future kids, so I don't want to think of them as dog names). Any ideas?

Guys....
*Jack (an obvious one, but still good)
*Buck (like a deer cuz' that was a big food source)
*Bear/Moose/Panther (other important animals)
*Pioneer (like you said, and I like it)
*Cowboy (not really Prairie area, but whatever)
*Yankee or Butternut (nicknames for Union Soldiers, Civil War)
*Reb or Rebel (these are for Confederates)
*Cabin or Cab
*Hunter (major job)
Girls...
*I think Pioneer works too :)
*Prairie-Flower (pretty and prairie related)
*Prairie-Dog (ditto)
*Creek or Cree (for obvious reasons)
*Doe or Fawn (Mom and baby deer)
*Half-pint (If she's small, cuz that was Laura Ingalls nickname)
*Rose
