If you are looking for specific coins, you may want to check out:

Several years ago, I sold various Greek coins to a jewelry artist from Georgia who especially like the Greek Phoenix coins which he would fashion into earrings and sell them at flea markets (another place to find these coins) and at local college campuses.
Another way to get ideas for jewelry is to go to:

and look through the different collections. If you want, you can type keywords like 'animals', 'phoenix', 'pig', 'birds', etc.
BTW, many of these coins are NOT worth $1 apiece (unless you can fashion them into jewelry at a good profit) more like .10 to .30 apiece (which you can find in bargain bins at many coin shops and coin shows -- but bring some clean wipes, you hands will get dirty rummaging through these coins).

Your change or eBay buy cheap coin lots.
Also many coin shops have junk boxes where they sell old valueless or damaged coins by the handful for cheap.
