how many communities out there have community watch groups? AND WHY?

i live in a small farm town. we have one because of alot of robberies. and so far when kids have been quetioned about what theyre doing they have been respectful.
if one attacks someone bad things can happen

We do an good people watch out for each other not just for crime but if the are sick or injured.My neighbor did not pick up his paper for 2 days an I knew something was wrong so I called the police for a wellness check an sure enough he fell down the stairs an broke his hip.

My community does. We live in an Atlanta suburb and watch out for anything suspicious, like strangers slowly driving around the neighborhood, and call the Police. We are instructed to never do anything ourselves, as the Police told Zimmerman.

I formed a community watch group of creepy old men. We watch the young school girls go to the public pool in their two piece bathing suits.
We're a no touch group though.
