There is not a set date for the end of a business quarter. Many companies utilize a fiscal, rather than calendar year. For example, a corporation may have a fiscal year of October 1 to September 30. For them, the end of the third quarter would be June 30th. For a company using a calendar year, the end of the 3rd quarter would be September 30th. As another example, my company previously had a February 1-January 31st fiscal year. So our 3rd quarter ending on October 31.
