Haha, no, but whoever is more adaptable should move, or they should live together in whichever country in which they can make the best life together.

My husband's best friend, Richard, was in a relationship with a Palestinian woman he met online. He went to Palestin and they got married, and then they live in Germany for a year where she was doing her residency to become a doctor. Richard was learning arabic (I think that's it) and german, but his wife is already tri-lingual. However, the nature of Richard's profession is one he can only do in America, so they are settled now there.

It depends on their situation, I'm saying. I don't think gender roles necessarily play into it.
