Why does Internet Explorer keep crashing? What can I do?

I have IE9 and Windows Vista. Very often when I click the down arrow for 'show address bar auto complete" it crashes. It also crashes often when I click in the address box. After it crashes, I have to restart it several times until it works right. How can I fix this? Is there a patch? What causes it?

Your problem: You are running Internet Explorer and Windows Vista.

Solution: Download Chrome. Internet Explorer is crap, and try upgrading to Windows 7 or 8.

Seriously though, if you download chrome it may resolve your issues that you're getting with Internet Explorer. Plus, it's faster and more secure.

What causes it is that Internet Explorer is one of the worst programs out there. It has nothing but problems, it is incredibly slow, and can cause numerous security threats.

Get a modern broswer like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

Stop using IE and you won't have problems. Use a workable browser like Firefox. Most people stopped using IE years ago for the same reasons you're now experiencing.
