How can i help my chicken who has gone into shock?
i was washing my chicken for fair, the water was too cold and now my chicken is acting like it is having seizures or has gone into shock. she is shaking terribly. any suggestions on how to help my bird will be appreciated. thank you in advanced

Dry her with a hair drier. It might take hours for her to regain some normal function. Chickens have high body temperatures around 104 and a dip in cool water will harm them as you have just found out. Keep her warm covered with a towel ,use the hair drier on warm to help. The bird will only be more stressed if you try to turn her up side down and raise her feet our her head. That is for shock in human not fowl.

For basic Shock treatment:
1. Keep Warm (Not to warm)
2. Lay on the anatomical 'back' of the animal.
3. Make the feet higher than it's heart, this'll make the blood go back to the essentials of the body.
4. Calm the chicken, do things that it seems to like (that are not physical, if it likes to be sung to, sing to it).
You're best bet is to seek Medical Aid.
