I need a new fuel pump right?

My Mother In Law's Farm Dodge 2500 diesel just stopped running. I think the way she describes what it is not doing (no sound when the key is on) the fuel pump is dead.

I do most of her mechanic work, but my work load is such that I cannot do it for a few weeks. Any one got a rough idea of the cost of having it done so I can tell her?

    Test the fuel pressure. You can't just put on parts and hope they will work.
