After last fall, all bets are off. Temperatures should be in the 50s and 60s, a bit cooler at night. Most likely too early for snow, but you will need a jacket on standby. A look at how the crowds are dressed for the last two Thanksgiving Day parades should give you a fair idea of how to dress.

Could be cold and/or snowy or it could be pleasantly cool and crisp. Same for Boston.
If you go to the Weather Channel website, I think you can find out the "average" weather for any location. Or, if you do a search for tourism websites for NYC and Boston, you'd probably find the info eventually. The AAA guidebooks also have that info [and you may be able to access them at your library, if you're not a member].
